BRENDA LABRON

Occupational Therapist

Brenda is a Canadian Certified Life Care Planner registered with the International Commission of Health Care Certifications. She obtained her pre-certification education through the University of Florida and the Institute of Rehabilitation Education and Training. Courses emphasized the medical and psychological aspects of Life Care Planning for clients with multiple disabilities, including, but not limited to, spinal cord injury, brain injury, and amputations. Training also provided a strong foundation in the ethical and legal components of Life Care Planning. Additionally, Brenda has a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy from the University of Western Ontario. She is a member in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario, and a member of the Ontario Society of Occupational Therapists. Brenda has 23 years of community experience, serving clients with neurological, orthopaedic, musculoskeletal, and psychological diagnoses. She also has 9 years of experience managing the quality of care provided by over 60 occupational therapists, physiotherapists, speech-language pathologists, social workers, and dietitians, having been a founding shareholder in a community therapy company.Her current practice includes Future Cost of Care Assessments, Hospital Discharges, In-Home Assessments, Attendant Care Assessments, Situational Assessments, and In-Home OT Treatment.Brenda has been qualified as an expert witness in Occupational Therapy by the Financial Services Commission of Ontario.
