Occupational Therapist
Ola is a duly qualified Occupational Therapist who graduated with a B.HSc (OT) from McMaster University in 2000 and a B.Sc. Kin in 1997 from The University of Waterloo. She is a member in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario, and the Ontario Society of Occupational Therapists (OSOT). Ola is an ADP authorizer for Seating and Mobility Aids and Ambulation devices, certified in providing Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and a PGAP Provider (Progressive Goal Attainment Program). She has sixteen years of experience practicing as an Occupational Therapist in a variety of settings within the hospital and community. This includes providing assessment, treatment and discharge planning to clients in areas of Acute Medicine, Acute Stroke, Rehabilitation, Reactivation, Orthopedics, Surgery, Emergency Department and ICU. Ola has extensive neuro rehabilitation experience with ongoing continuing education and is NDT trained. Community practice has focused on assessment and rehabilitation of individuals with traumatic injuries (physical, cognitive, behavioural, and psycho-emotional) to improve productivity at home, work, or school. Ola also has experience in Functional Abilities Evaluations and treating MVA clients as a Kinesiologist. She has a vast working knowledge of neurological, cardiac, respiratory, complex medical and orthopedic conditions. Her specific areas of interest include acquired brain injury, stroke, providing neuro rehabilitation, cognitive remediation and accommodation, equipment provision, seating and mobility.
